Logic
 Second Semester
Description:
This is a course in linguistic symbolic logic. Logic and reasoning form the basis for how we think and communicate in everyday life. It also forms the basis for all other subjects that we study (math, science, music, writing, language, etc). It is important that we understand and are able to perform these disciplines effectively. The purpose of this course is to develop our understanding of words, ideas, and arguments, as well as their logical relationships to one another. Each student will benefit from this class by improving their analytical and problem solving skills, which will aid them in their study of other subjects.

 Office Software
First Semester
Description:
Knowing the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is important in the professional world as well as in school. To succeed in high school, your child should know how to adjust margins and spacing, check word counts, create headers and footers, and track changes in Word. In Excel, your child should know how to organize information in charts and graphs, write formulas, sort and filter data, and use cell references. Your child should know how to organize a presentation through PowerPoint by creating and managing slides for future projects.    All of these skills will be presented, along with how to keep your computer files organized, in a fun and hands-on learning  experience.

This class will cover the following study skills: discipline & responsibility, note taking, reading & listening, test preparation & test taking, staying focused, writing outlines, doing research, time management, and goal planning. Worldview
*A tuition payment will also be required for the second semester of this class.

Description:    "What is truth?" Pontias  Pilate's words echo down the halls of history and reverberate in the culture we live in and interact with on a daily basis. The purpose of this course is not to dictate the truth. Rather, the purpose of this course is to learn how to discern for oneself what is truth. In this class, we will challenge ideas and beliefs both Christian and secular, equip students to view life from various worldviews, and make decisions based on the worldviews that make the most sense. Students will study theology, philosophy, ethics, biology, psychology, sociology, law, politics, economics, and history. Joshua 24:15 says, "...choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Tutor:   Josh De Leon
Length: Full Year Course
Level: 9th - 12th grade
Prerequisite: None
